On April 24, 2016 Overhead Door Company of St. Louis hosted their first Open the Door Fun Run/Walk. The Company sponsored the event as a way for our employees, family and friends, and the general public to get some exercise while supporting local charities. The event was hosted by Team Impact, a group of Overhead Door Company of St. Louis employees who empower their coworkers to be involved with volunteerism and charitable activities, wellness events, team building activities, and other special events.
The $15 registration fees were donated to one of the following charitable organizations. The event raised a total of $540!
- The BackStoppers Inc. (The BackStoppers Inc. on Facebook)
- Humane Society of Missouri (Humane Society of Missouri on Facebook)
- PAIGE Foundation (PAIGE Foundation on Facebook)
About the Open the Door Fun Run
The Open the Door Fun Run/Walk was the inspiration of Megan McCarty who took the idea to Team Impact. Last fall Megan became involved with a charity walk and has since participated in several events. The run intended to open the door to awareness for employees to support meaningful causes. The charitable organizations benefit children (The PAIGE Foundation), the community (The BackStoppers Inc.) and animals (Humane Society of Missouri).

Did you know that we’re about more than garage door repair and services? Part of our culture is to acknowledge the social responsibility we have and give back to the community. During the month of December, Overhead Door Company of St. Louis and Bi-State Loading Dock teamed up to raise money to donate to the Little Wishes program.
Little Wishes is a program created by the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition and allows for wishes to be granted for children that are in temporary foster homes over the holidays. Through the support of all the employees, we raised $1,175.00!
By raising these charitable funds, we granted 17 Little Wishes for children in foster care during the holidays. We also made a cash donation to the organization.
To top it all off, we celebrated our fundraising efforts by having a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! We recently received a thank you letter from some of the children we were able to help, with some sweet wishes from them.
